Who this is for: Anyone who needs to view, edit, or work with a single contract
Time to complete: 30 seconds
The contract detail page is the home base for everything you do to a single contract — viewing metadata, reading documents, starting workflows, and managing related records.
Steps
1. Find the contract
From the sidebar, click Contracts, then locate the row you want. Your search can be narrowed using column filters or the Search box.
2. Click anywhere on the row
Click anywhere on the contract row — the icon, the title, the counterparty, the date — they all open the same detail page.
The full contract detail page
The page is divided into four areas:
Breadcrumbs at the top — Contracts > the contract title. Click Contracts to go back to the list.
Header card — title, status badge, key metadata fields (Party Name, Department, Counterparty Name, Execution Date, Expiration Date, Termination Date, Contract Owner, Renewal Date, Governing Law, Organizational Ownership), and the Stage tracker at the bottom.
Related Documents (left column) — every document attached to this contract.
More Information (right column) — quick-glance counts for related entities (People, Organizations, etc.).
3. Read the header
The header card carries the most important context — what the contract is, what state it’s in, and the people and dates that matter most.
Close-up of the contract header
Look here for:
The status badge (e.g., Pending, Active, Terminated) next to the title
The four action icons in the top right of the header — eye (watch), pencil (edit), three-dot (more actions), and the Options dropdown (amendments, renewals, duplications, etc.)
The Stage tracker along the bottom — visual progress through Request → Draft → Due Diligence → Review → Approval → Signature → Executed
4. Browse related documents
Scroll down to see the Related Documents card. This is where every document attached to the contract lives.
The Related Documents panel
Each row represents one document. Click a row to open the document preview. Use the search box to filter by name, the + Add document button to upload a new version, and the list/grid icons on the right to switch view modes.
If the contract has no documents yet, you’ll see No documents found in this panel.
Tips
The breadcrumb back to Contracts preserves your search and filter state — you’ll land back on the same page of the list you came from.
If you don’t see the pencil (edit) icon, the contract is locked, archived, or you don’t have edit permission.
Use the eye icon to add the contract to your Watch List so it shows up on your home page.
